Why Prince Royce’s ‘Carita de Inocente’ Has Endured on Radio & Set a Chart Longevity Record

The song tops Tropical Airplay for a 20th week.

Prince Royce‘s “Carita de Inocente” holds strong atop Billboard‘s Tropical Airplay chart (dated Aug. 8) for a record 20th week at No. 1, extending its mark for the most weeks atop the survey, which began in 1994.

The song broke free of a tie with Aventura’s “Inmortal” and Don Omar and Lucenzo’s “Danza Kuduro,” each of which led for 18 weeks, in 2019 and 2010-11, respectively.

“Carita de Inocente,” Prince Royce’s 18th Tropical Airplay No. 1 (the third-most, after Marc Anthony’s 32 and Victor Manuelle’s 28), was written by Royce, D’Lesly Lora and Yonathan Then and produced by Royce and Lora.
