URI Geller says he introduced Martin Bashir to Michael Jackson after being shown a letter from Princess Diana — but is unsure if it was genuine.
The spoon-bending psychic, 73, says Bashir was “close to begging” him for an interview with his pal, which triggered a court trial.
It comes as Diana’s brother Earl Spencer blasted a BBC probe into how Bashir landed the 1995 Di interview.
Geller said last night: “What convinced me to introduce him to Michael was a crumpled-up letter that he pulled out of his leather wallet.
“It was from Diana praising him for the interview he conducted with her. I have no idea if it was genuine.”
He went on: “My mind was basically thinking, ‘OK, Michael loves Diana’.”
But he added: “There was always something disturbing in my mind about Bashir.”
Bashir’s subsequent film on Jackson, aired in 2003, proved disastrous for the Beat It singer.
