Bridgerton break-out star Regé-Jean Page has tweeted a message to followers amid reports of a racist casting incident.
Claims emerged yesterday that DC Comics writer Geoff Johns had ruled out Regé – who is mixed race – for a role as Superman’s grandfather in spin-off Krypton because of the colour of his skin.
Johns has denied the allegations that he rejected Regé after his audition because “Superman couldn’t have a black grandfather.”
A representative said for the comic book writer said that it was thought fans may believe the show to be a prequel to Henry Cavill’s rendition of the famous superhero – who is white – and as such should invoke his appearance.
