More than 220 Cambridge University freshers have been told to self-isolate for two weeks after a coronavirus outbreak at an accommodation block.
Homerton College said students in West House were told to quarantine from yesterday after 18 positive cases were identified across 11 households.
It comes after the second week of the university’s asymptomatic screening programme were published.
In a statement posted on their website last night, Homerton College said the decision to quarantine 223 students was based on advice from Public Health England and ‘information from the university’s rigorous testing programme’.
