Mandy Moore was on trend wearing red for the 2021 Emmy Awards held from L.A. LIVE on Sunday (September 19) in California.

When it comes to her Carolina Herrera Spring 2022 gown, I’m here for the colour, and the fan ruffle which adds plenty of volume to the pleated column gown.

So why didn’t love this as much as I thought I would? After all, this was one of my favourites from this collection.

I looked, I looked and I looked again, and realised that I think it’s the hair (which feels too casual) that isn’t catapulting this into one of the best of the night for me.

The dress is spectacular, but I’m not so enamoured by the styling.

Am I alone? I really wanted to love this more than I did.
