Following her virtual awards season, Jurnee Smollett returned to the red carpet for the 2021 Emmy Awards from L.A. LIVE on Sunday (September 19) in California.

Jurnee was my “fashion girl” of awards season, as she was serving up feathered looks from Elie Saab, plenty of sparkle in Louis Vuitton, retro elegance in Zuhair Murad and modernity in Alexandre Vauthier.

On this occasion she switched gears, much to my surprise, wearing a classic Christian Dior corolla dress featuring a fringed underskirt from the Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection.

This silhouette is decidedly unrestrained in its elegance, and was so enchanting, even though there’s a part of me that would’ve preferred this look without the fringe…
