In 1986, they held one of the first “international championships” at the Vancouver World Expo. The next day, locals held a more informal event at the Seylynn Bowl in North Vancouver. All of us vert skaters descended on this snake run and did our best to adapt. Here are some of my “highlights” from a bygone era, and what a sticker toss looked like when anarchy reigned supreme at skate events.
