Had an amazing night last night meeting so many people passionate about protecting our oceans ????.
I am pictured with the host of the evening, ocean advocate and Australia’s most successful ever Olympian, Ian Thorpe. I was SO excited to meet and chat with him ⭐
The Sapphire Project launched yesterday on UN World Oceans Day ????. Presented by @tiffanyandco
We were asked to reuse, recycle or repurpose… so I repurposed a ball gown into a mermaid dress ????♀️. Needless to say, I was the only mermaid at the event ????
I even found a good use for my solid gold medal for fastest Channel Swimming Association swimmer of 2019… made it into a choker necklace.????
???? THE Valerie Taylor even made a brief but impactful appearance… she had to leave as her image was being projected onto the Sydney Opera House the same evening ???? check out her new doco!! ???? @valerietaylormovie
This year The Sapphire Project works with partners @take3forthesea @lirrf @greatbarrierreeffoundation @bluecarbonlab @girringunaboriginalcorp to help protect our greatest living treasure, The Great Barrier Reef????????????.
