???? ???????? Goodbye Australia… Hello England!! ????????????

I have just landed in London. This is the start of my 11th English Channel Campaign. I started swimming the Channel in 2009.

I loved it so much I wanted to bring people to the Channel so they could fulfil their own channel dreams ????

Since then I have had the privilege of coaching over 150 people to successfully swim it. ????

I have also swum 3x double non-stop crossings (68km each) and a triple too (102km)…yes, each crossing of a multiple counts towards my tally ????

The Channel is my spiritual home ✨. Every year when I return, I drive into Dover over the rolling green hills ⛰ which then separate and reveal the Channel in all her power and glory. It’s like seeing her for the very first time… I feel a sense of magic and anticipation.

You don’t ‘decide’ to swim the Channel… it’s a calling. She called me and I answered ????.

For you who are new to following me… this year I am going after the World Record for the Greatest Crossings of the English Channel????.

I am currently sitting at 37x Crossings????‍.

Last year I beat the Men’s World Record (3️⃣4️⃣) held by English man Kevin Murphy (King of the Channel), and this year I am after the overall World Record, held by Alison Streeter (my idol when I started channel swimming!!) at 4️⃣3️⃣ Crossings.

If I manage 7x Channel crossings this season I will surpass Alison’s World Record & reach 44x crossings. If I reach 4️⃣4️⃣ I will also be crowned Queen of the Channel.

During my Channel campaign last year I started advocating for women experiencing domestic violence to the international media in conjunction with my 3️⃣5️⃣th Channel crossing.

I was very concerned, having read reports that DV had increased ???? during lockdowns across the world. I will be advocating more on this again this year… I will share more details with you shortly.

……
Big Shout Out to Flight Centre ✈ @flightcentreau who reached to offer me a return flight to London.

The international travel industry has been doing it really tough since Covid started, so I really appreciate their support in these challenging times! ????????
