Children’s television character Big Bird has conservative politicians and anti-vaxxers all riled up.

The Sesame Street favourite sparked a wave of backlash at the weekend after taking to Twitter to share his vaccination status.

“I got the COVID-19 vaccine today,” Big Bird tweeted.
