Barbara and I, and all of us who have had the opportunity to get to know @PatrickCantlay, are very happy for him. Obviously, he has had a great year, winning 4 times, including our Memorial Tournament for the second time, and two FedExCup Playoff events. He’s played very well all year. Personally, I was glad to see some well-deserved smiles on his face at the end of the Tour Championship. He is richly deserving of the Jack Nicklaus Award as @PGATOUR Player of the Year.

I first met Patrick in 2011, when he won the Nicklaus Award as the top collegiate player of the year in the county. Patrick has struggled through health issues and some other issues not of his doing. But I have seen him stay with it, work hard, and be successful. I’m very impressed with Patrick and where this journey has taken him.
