Sam Heughan is “delighted” to finally be roaring into action after passing his full motorbike test earlier today.

The Outlander star, 40, is throwing away his L-plates following almost a year of lessons.

Motorbike enthusiast Sam sat the first of the two-part exam before the country went into lockdown in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The busy Balmaclellan-born actor had to wait until tests were back up and running again at the beginning of August for his chance to get out on the road for the final part.

BikeRite Rider Training owner Roy McCulloch said: “He had been training with us for the best part of a year but due to his acting commitments and then Covid-19, he had to stop for ages.

“He was nervous like anyone would be, but being an actor he was able to get on top of that, and he is more than capable.

“He was delighted to pass.

“He’s a really nice and down to earth guy.

“But being Scottish, he wouldn’t be allowed to be anything but.”

Roy says Sam isn’t the first A-lister his staff have worked with and celebrities usually always make good students.
