“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

While testifying on Capitol Hill on behalf of Title IX, I wasn’t alone. I brought the dreams of each girl and woman who wanted a chance to succeed in sport.

On the law’s 49th anniversary, I’m remembering Senator Birch Bayh who wrote it and all who work for equality.
