Robert De Niro has revealed his reasons for dropping out of the lead role in the 1988 film Big – paving the way for Tom Hanks.

Tom, who is 64 now and 13 years younger than Robert, gave an iconic turn as an child who turns magically into an adult after making a wish to a fortune teller.

But Robert had been cast first and during a recent interview on The Tonight Show Show Starring Jimmy Fallon he shared why the project did not work out for him.
