Rothenberg is also well known for his stage career, having performed in productions of A Streetcar Named Desire, Finder’s Fee, A Doll’s House and A Steady Rain. 

Most recently, Rothenberg starred in Hulu’s Castle Rock as Reverend Matthew Deaver.

In Castle Rock, Rothenberg starred alongside André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Sissy Spacek.,
