The creators of Rick & Morty held an at-home event for fans in the last weekend of July, during which they shared a preview of rough footage from the show’s upcoming fifth season.
With just this little teaser for fans to cling on to and no date on when the new season will air, the creators also decided to give fans a treat – releasing a special eight-minute Japanese-language episode.
The short, titled Rick and Morty vs. Genocider, is directed by Takashi Sano, and is the second time the show has done an anime-style special following Samurai & Shogun, which was released back in March.
And since its release, fan theories around the spin-off continue to swirl, including speculation that Rick and Morty might actually be the same person.
So, what happens in Rick and Morty vs. Genocider and who are the voice actors in the special?
