Brie Larson has opened up on the realities of auditioning as an actor – and shared the roles she went for but missed out on.
The Captain Marvel star, 30, revealed in her new YouTube video that she has been auditioning since the age of seven, and has come to learn to deal with rejection as part and parcel of the job.
Conscious of the fact the fans only get to see her successes, Brie revealed some of the roles she went for in the past but didn’t get.
She explained: ‘Sometimes, you’re doing three auditions in a day, sometimes you’re playing characters that are totally outside of anything you know how to play,’
Brie revealed that she auditioned for a part in 2013’s The Frozen Ground starring Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, which eventually went to Vanessa Hudgens.
She put a lot of effort in to nail the role, explaining: ‘I was auditioning to play a prostitute who was, like, homeless in Alaska.
